Florida Lottery Announces $590 Million Powerball Winner

News conference held June 5, 2013 at Florida Lottery headquarters. Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O’Connell announces that Gloria C. MacKenzie, 84 had won the historic jackpot.

Just so you guys know, even if the guy had not let her get in front of him
in the lotto line, he likely would not have won. Quick picks are chosen in
a computer using randomized numbers in conjunction with the computer’s
internal clock. If the clerk would have been a millisecond off from
pressing that quick pick button on the machine, she could have gotten a
totally different number.

If I won a massive lottery where my take home was 591 million I’d keep 41
million for myself and my family and friends, ensure that our kids kids
kids are taken care of…with the remaining 550 million, i’d just give it
away. i live in a city of about 250,000 and there is a definite poor
section of town. I came from there, but rose up. I know what it’s like to
be poor never havin always needin paycheck to paycheck..I know how much a
gift of $50,000 could help a family. Immensely! Imagine! With 550 million I
could do that for 11,000 people. That would change so many lives.

I read the comments here and some are like no one needs 590million and
probably would give I away…. Wow wonder why billionaires exist then… I
don’t think they feel the same as they see the need to keep earning more
and more which means they know how to spend it as well…
