Lotto Winner Fights For Food Stamps

After winning the lottery on Michigan’s ‘Make Me Rich,’ Leroy Fick is fighting the state’s attempt to keep him from collecting state aid in the form of food stamps. Fick’s attorney, John Wilson, says his client has not broken any laws and is eligible for benefits under the current system.

Actually, government took over a million dollars from him, so do you think he’s even going to use 1 million dollars worth of food stamps in his lifetime?? You have to look at the whole picture before you comment. Yes people shouldn’t take taxpayer dollars, but also think about the people you say need them. Most of those people need them because they are too lazy to work hard enough to earn money for their food.

Your not rich with $850,000. It is a lot of money, but that’s all it is, that money will go fast with expenses on maintenance for the home and car and other stuff. You are sub-rich in the lowest term, but not rich.

In California, if you make more the $1,100.00 a month in income you no longer qualify for EBT – Food Stamps , maximum is $189.00 a month for some one with out income, to 16 dollars a month in food stamps for some one that makes $900.00 – $1000.00.

He isn’t using hard earned cash. His prize was $2 million and he only got $800k. The $1.2 million went to taxes and so he isn’t technically using any hard earned tax payer cash. And he’s right, if the rules don’t change then he’s not going anything wrong. Billionaires and millionaires “cheat” taxes because it’s legal. And they don’t collect $400 food stamps, they collect millions in welfare and avoid millions to billions in taxes.

so let me get this straight, he was taxed 1.2 million dollars and you think people would be mad because he is only taking back a super small percentage of money the government took from him in taxes, so literary hes not taking money from the tax payer but a small amount of money the man took from him.
